Your PAN Card will be made for free, know how to apply for home
New Delhi (Business Desk) In the period of digitization, the country’s income tax department has now provided a new facility to taxpayers. With the help of this special facility, now the taxpayers can apply online by going to the Income Tax Department’s website sitting at home. The user will be provided an electronic PAN immediately upon application. However, this facility has been started for personal taxpayers at present.
This facility of Income Tax Department is available for free. This information has been given on the Income Tax Department’s official website incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. The applicant should have the Aadhaar card number to get e-PAN card. This facility is available for a limited time only. Those people who already have a PAN card can not apply for e-PAN.

Applicants who already have PAN card can not apply for e-PAN.
The facility of e-PAN is available only for local people (excluding minors and those under the Income Tax Act, 160). This facility is not for Hindu Undivided Family (HUF), firm, trust and companies.
To get this you must have a mobile number linked to the base number. This is because one time password will be sent to your mobile number.
To verify your mobile number registered with Aadhaar number, you will have to visit the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) or you will have to go to the Nodal Body issuing the Aadhaar card.
After the completion of the process of E-KYC or Know Your Customer through Aadhaar OTP, your e-PAN application process will be started. E-KYC means the electronic verification of the application.
E-PAN will be prepared on the basis of the information recorded in your Aadhaar card number.
If some information such as name, birth place, gender, mobile number and address entered in the base is not correct, then you have to go to the UIDAI website and there will be a need to repair all information there. After this, you can apply for an E-PAN.
In order to apply for e-PAN, the applicant will have to sign a white paper and scan it and upload it. This signature should be in set size (JPEG format) and resolution (200 DPI), which should not exceed 10KB.
As this is the paperless facility, the applicants will not need to send any documents.
After successfully completing the e-application, an enrollment number of 15 digits will be generated. It will be sent to your mobile number or e-mail id.
