New Delhi (Tech Desk) Facebook-owned company Whatspe said that expert research on fek news and rumor-breaking news. For this, they will be given Rs 34 lakhs. The company has announced the Global Award for the Expert Research Center in this case on Wednesday. Let me tell you that the central government issued new instructions warning the rumors being spread on the messaging app. The government has asked to check the Fake Message from WhatsApp and also to take necessary steps to stop it.
Steps taken for detecting Fake News
After this decision of the government, the company has announced to take big steps to find out the Fake News. WHATSAP spokesperson said that we are very serious about the security of our users. In this way, we are ready to connect with India’s big educational experts through this new project. The main purpose behind this is to find out how wrong information is spread through online platforms. With the help of this research, we will try to identify people and identify false news, preventing them from moving forward.
Technology alone should not be blamed for cruel acts like Mob Lynching. However, it has certainly made it easier to spread fake news in India.
These people will get priority
The company said that research done in India, Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico and similar countries will be given priority, where WhatsAppSpace is a major medium of communication. Ph.D. will approve researchers’ applying the whitespace. However, in some extraordinary cases, it will also review the applications of people without PhD, which will have a high level of achievement in social science or technical research.
Apply up to 12th August
The last date for submission of application is 12 August 2018. Whatsapp award recipients will be notified by email on September 14, 2018 on the status of their application by email.
